FAQ

Money is personal. Here are the answers.

What is Open Banking?

Open Banking is regulation that lets you give a licensed provider access to your account data, such as balances and transactions, through secure interfaces and only with your consent. In Europe it was introduced by the PSD2 directive, and more and more markets are adopting similar rules. FinGenie is built on Open Banking to bring your financial information into one picture.

How does read-only bank access work?

You approve the connection on your bank's own consent screen, through official Open Banking interfaces. The bank gives FinGenie permission to read data only – such as balances and transactions – for a limited period. Your bank password stays with you and your bank.

Can the AI move my money without permission?

No. Read-only access has no ability to make payments or transfers. FinGenie recommends; only you decide and act.

What happens to my data if I stop using FinGenie?

You can revoke access at any time, in the app or at your bank, and the connection stops immediately. Your personal data is then deleted, except for anything we are legally required to keep.

Does the demo on this site use my data?

No. The demo shows synthetic data only and runs entirely in your browser; nothing is sent.

When can I start using FinGenie?

FinGenie is in development. Leave your details in the form and choose “I want to use the app”, and we'll let you know when it's available.
